When Chip Conley was first dubbed a “Modern Elder” by Airbnb’s CEO Brian Chesky, he hated it. Our collective impression of being an “elder” is an association to being old, and he didn’t want to be branded as the old guy. But Chip reclaimed and is helping change the way we all view aging. He embraced his role as an elder to his mentees.
In this episode, Chip shares his thoughts on what being a “Modern Elder” means and the power of collaborating with the younger generation. He also talks about environmental mastery and how he has embraced a servant leader role towards his much younger mentees.
